ONLINE Scholarship Application
2024 -2025 Latchmin Jaramillo Scholarship Criteria
- The student must be accepted into a university or technical institution
- Two letters of recommendation- one from the principal and another staff member/teacher
- Proof of extracurricular activity/volunteer services- letter from an individual in charge of extracurricular/volunteer program. Items to be addressed in the letter:
- How did participating in the extracurricular activity or volunteer service better the school and/or community?
- What is your experience with the applicant?
- Student’s potential to succeed at their next learning institution
- Is there anything else you would like to add?
- 1-2page essay, answering these questions:
- Tell us about
- How will receiving the scholarship impact your life?
- How will receiving the scholarship impact the community at large?
- What are your career goals and aspirations?
- Who has been a role model for you?
- Is there anything else you would like to add?
- Proof of financial need- parent’s income below the poverty level (tax return, not sure if Jamaica has that)
- First-generation college student (neither parent went to college)
- The student must maintain a 3.5 GPA to continue receiving the scholarship. (I’m not sure if Jamaica uses GPA)
